Regional development approaches to tourism, culture and heritage in the Asia-Pacific region (16478)
This paper provides an analytical regional overview of the relationship between tourism, culture and heritage in the Asia-Pacific region. Drawing upon field based in-country collaborative research by the panelists this presentation will argue that contestation between the use and monestisation of cultural heritage as a development tool will increase throughout the region in the future. It uses the regional studies approach as the introductory framework for this panel session.
