As a Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography my research has focused on fluvial geomorphology, particularly in the area of river channel dynamics, alluvial histories and catchment connectivity. These fields of process geomorphology have direct relevance for river and catchment management and stream ecology. I am involved in developing these links between geomorphology and ecology as part of Massey's Innovative River Solutions Centre, which I co-direct with Russell Death (www.massey.ac.nz/rivers).
