Karen E. Till (MA, UCLA, 1990; PhD University of Wisconsin 1996) is Senior Lecturer in Cultural Geography and Director of the Space&Place Research Collaborative at the National University of Ireland Maynooth. Her research interests include place and memory, wounded cities, art and geography, alternative approaches to urban planning and design, and spatial justice. She is currently working on a book project, 'Wounded Cities', an international comparative project that examines cities particularly marked by forms of state-perpetrated violence and highlights how the memory-work artists and activists can inspire scholars and practitioners to imagine different ways of theorizing the city.
