Eric Pawson is Professor of Geography at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. He was awarded the Distinguished New Zealand Geography Medal by the New Zealand Geographical Society in 2007, a National Tertiary Teaching Award in 2009, and the University of Canterbury Teaching Medal in 2013. His most recent books are Active Learning and Student Engagement (co-edited, 2010), Seeds of Empire: The Environmental Transformation of New Zealand (co-authored, 2011), and Making A New Land: Environmental Histories of New Zealand (co-edited, 2013).
